A stratum is a bed of earth with consistent composition naturally laid amid visually distinct layers. Inspired by the banded cliff edges of Eastern Washington's stunning Palouse Canyon, Richlite Stratum embeds bamboo between contrasting layers of paper. Manufactured in partnership with Smith & Fong Plyboo. Enjoy a truly unique surface and edge design with Richlite Stratum.
Sizes: Richlite Stratum is available in 1" thickness in 48" x 96" sheet size.
Colors: Richlite Stratum samples are shown and sampled only in Black Diamond on the surface.
Edge Treatments: The main design element with Stratum is the edge. Richlite Stratum can be shaped with simple flat edges or extravagant designs. Regardless of the edge shape, you'll be taken with the beauty of the Plyboo edge grain core embedded between the Richlite.
Striations: As with our Northwest and Cascade products, Stratum will have a "mottled" appearance on the surface, which patterns in a striated effect lengthwise. This is less apparent, but present on dark colors, including Black Diamond. This quality is due to the natural variation in the way fibers lay within the paper used to make the material.
