Mosquito Barrier (also known as Garlic Barrier) is a very strong liquid garlic made from very potent garlic cloves. Garlic has a natural sulfur which repels insects, including mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and even black flies.
Spraying garlic to keep insects away is not something new, farmers and master gardeners have been doing it for many generations. Since mosquitoes are soft-bodied insects the garlic juice can be very toxic to them in increased concentrations.
Mosquito Barrier is a three pronged attack:
(1) it kills the adult mosquitoes on contact;
(2) garlic coated objects keep mosquitoes out of the area; and
(3) it suffocates any mosquito larvae in standing water, such as puddles, under decks, water in tin cans or depressions in your lawn.
While the odor becomes undetectable to humans within minutes or hours, the mosquitoes will still detect it for weeks. Mosquitoes have extremely sensitive odor sensing antennae--as high as 10,000 times stronger than humans.
Additionally, mixing Mosquito Barrier with soybean oil and water and applying over standing water will coat a very thin film, which suffocates the mosquito larvae developing in any standing water.
Mosquito Barrier, unlike harmful chemicals, doesn't kill bees or butterflies and is completely safe for children, fish, birds, dogs, cats and other pets.
Coverage rate: 1 diluted quart covers about 1 1/4 acres
Application typically lasts up to 4 weeks, depending on rain and weather patterns.
