Marmoleum Click
Marmoleum is over 100 years old and has never been more popular. The Click floors feature natural linoleum on a high density fiberboard (HDF) tongue-and-groove panel with a cork layer underneath. Thanks to Marmoleum's natural organic makeup, its performance is enhanced by time as exposure to air serves to harden and increase its durability. Yet, the floor remains quiet and comfortable under foot thanks to the cork underlay. Use in: Most rooms in the home and light office space, including living room, recreation room, kitchen, bedrooms and hallways. Not recommended for full baths in many instances.
Features:
- Very durable: Linoleum gets tougher with time as the linseed oil cures. Its static load limit is 150 pounds per square inch, double that of many vinyl composition tiles.
- Healthy: Marmoleum has no adverse health issues whatsoever, either during production, its useful life, or disposal. No added formaldehyde and very low VOCs. It is popular in hospitals and recommended by medical professionals to people with respiratory disorders. Do note that the linseed oil does produce a distinct, although not unpleasant, odor. This may prove to be problematic for some chemically sensitive individuals. As with all products to be specified or used for chemically sensitive people we recommend individual testing to determine suitability.
- Easy to Install: A great do-it-yourself (DIY) option. The flooring slots together with a simple 'In & Out' system that allows you to simply 'click' the panels into place. No glue is required, so the floor can be walked on immediately after installation. Can be installed over hydronic radiant heating systems.
- Easy to Clean: Marmoleum is durable and color-fast. The linseed oil helps to make the floor naturally bacteriostatic and anti-static, which makes the floor easier to clean in that dust and dirt will not easily adhere to the floor. Keep it dirt-free with a dry dust wiper and remove spots with a neutral cleaner and damp cloth or mop. For best results, Marmoleum Cleaner and Finish products are recommended.
- A very sustainable product: Social and environmental responsibility has been a core value at Forbo for many decades. Environmentally compatible products and state-of-the-art processes ensure that each production stage minimizes our environmental impact. We engage in responsible product sourcing that combines our customersÆ preference for quality with care for the environment, carefully selecting suppliers who reflect our environmental and social concerns. We constantly seek to improve the environmental performance of our processes; all of our manufacturing operations are ISO 14001 certified. Raw materials and energy are used efficiently, waste is recycled wherever possible, and emissions are kept to an absolute minimum. For our products we carry out full life-cycle assessments and provide detailed information on the results so that customers can make their own responsible choices.
- Fun to design: Great in a solid pattern, or combine colors to create tile or checkerboard patterns, rows, boxes, and other unique designs.
Panel sizes:
- Long panels: Approximately 12" x 36" (actual size 11.81" x 35.82"; 300mm x 910mm).
- Square panels: Approximately 12" x 12" (actual size 11.81" x 11.81"; 300mm x 300mm).
- Gauge (thickness): 13/32".
- There are 7 panels per box (boxes cannot be broken).
Ingredients: Linoleum is produced from renewable raw materials, the harvesting or extraction of which consumes relatively little energy.
- Linseed oil, which is obtained by pressing the seeds of the flax plant, is linoleumÆs most important raw material (and the origin of its name). Throughout the years, linseed oil has been used for many purposes, ranging from cooking to providing quick relief to people suffering from a cold.
- Rosin, which is tapped from pine trees using a method that does not harm their growth, provides the binding agent for linoleum. Together with the linseed oil, rosin gives linoleum its unique combination of strength and flexibility.
- Wood flour is used because it has the unique characteristic of being able to bind with the pigments. This gives our linoleum products their beautiful colours and ensures their long-term colour-fastness.
- Cork flour is the ground bark of the cork oak. We source ours from plantations in Mediterranean countries. The bark is peeled every 7-10 years without damaging either the lifespan or the health of the tree.
- Limestone is found all over the world in enormous quantities. In its very finely ground form, it is an important raw material for linoleum.
- Organic pigments deliver the vibrant, beautiful colours, and are sourced from ecologically responsible practices. The pigments used in our products do not contain heavy metals (such as lead or cadmium) or other harmful substances, and do not pose a threat to the environment.
- Jute, which is spun from the fibres of jute plants in India and Bangladesh, is the preferred backing of our products because of its natural origins. Not only is there an abundant, renewable supply of jute, but it also provides critical export opportunities for these developing economies.
