Loma is our original base plaster. It provides a surprising range of textures for interior walls. Loma is always used as the base (first) coat for all three of the Premier Plasters (Loma, Porcelina, Marittimo), and may also be used as the final (second) finishing coat, where it offers flexibility for a wide range of finish options. With different troweling techniques, Loma produces sophisticated depth reminiscent of suede, whisper-subtle matte elegance or rustic organic surfaces with true tactile appeal. Loma is the easiest of the plasters to apply--for do-it-yourself enthusiasts who have little or no plastering experience and for spray-on with a drywall hopper for professional applications.
- Comes as a powder in a 50 lb. bag
- Coverage: 80-120 square feet in two coats per 50 lb. bag, depending on the substrate
- Base color: Snow Canyon white. Choose any of the colorants to color the base.
- Potential additives: Mica chips and shredded straw are available additives to add texture, shine and other features. Other additives may also be used, such as recycled colored glass.
- American Clay plasters have a far longer working time than other plasters--up to several days if you need it--so you can take your time and work with confidence that the surface will not set before you have achieved just the finish you want.
- There is no waste. You can reuse any excess plaster--even after you have mixed it and it is dried. Just break it up and rehydrate it.
- Can be troweled on like traditional plasters, but you can also spray on with a drywall hopper.
